December 2015 Governor’s Message

Don_PetersonGreetings:

It has been a very active Rotary harvest in District 5630 this fall as Clubs are busy with projects, district & global grants, and having some fun together along the way. So many third graders are getting their very first dictionary from very passionate Rotarians that enjoy doing this project every year.

It is also that time of the Rotary year that District Youth Services leaders are busy preparing for our future leaders. The District Youth Exchange Team conducted interviews for future exchange students and the District RYLA Team is beginning the selection process for junior councilors. The youth programs are very important to the future of Rotary, so much happens through true dedication by our District Leaders that we don’t always realize what it takes to make our District’s Youth Programs so successful. Great job to all serving on those teams!

Fall is also a time to be thankful in our personal lives and also our work in Rotary. The majority of the work we do and the projects that we fund are supported through the Rotary Foundation. It is really heartwarming to see all of the projects in motion across our District utilizing the district & global grant model. The eradication of polio keeps getting closer and closer to be a reality, so many things to be thankful for. I would encourage all members to keep Rotary’s work in your end of the year plans and support our Rotary Foundation.

From our family to yours, wishing you warm and happy holidays & thank you for being a Rotarian!
